Powder Art Niseko launches its first contemporary art gallery in the heart of Hirafu, Niseko

Immediate Release:  Powder Art Niseko is pleased to announce the opening of its first contemporary art gallery in Hokkaido, Japan. The gallery is located in the heart of Hirafu, opened on Thursday, 20th December 2018 with a cocktail reception from 6pm to 8pm. Over 50 guests has attended the event with the presence of Netherland artist, Peter Riezebos and Tokyo artist, Ben Mori to celebrate this important occasion. Peter Riezebos performed live painting in front of the guests and created an art piece ‘Sake Samurai III’ exclusively for the grand opening of the Powder Art.

About Powder Art Niseko

Powder Art Niseko represents and showcases premier pieces from top and emerging national artists from Tokyo, Amsterdam and New York. Works are carefully selected to foster cross-cultural dialogues, with the goal to enrich art viewers’ perspectives through inspirations, creativity and self-expressions.

Powder Art Niseko is currently showing artists Ben Mori, Peter Riezebos, Michael Angel and Victor Demarchelier, from 20th December, 2018 to 29th March, 2019. Gallery opens daily from 11am to 7pm.

 

About Ben Mori

Ben Mori was born in 1981 in Tokyo to a Japanese father and an American mother. After graduating from Kelo Jr. High, he attended school on the East Coast where he graduated from the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design, majoring in Graphic Design. The exhibition shows his deep love towards animals. Mori has participated in various international art fairs including Art Fair Tokyo, Art Kyoto, NYC Art Fair, and more. He is the No.1 selling artist at Hikarie8 / cube gallery, the art fair plus+2013 and also Sezon Art Gallery.

 

About Peter Riezebos

Peter Riezebos (1980) is a Shanghai-based artist from the Netherlands. His creative work encompasses drawings and paintings, primarily in abstract, figurative and neo- expressionism traditions. Peter Riezebos is an autodidact. His creative ability emerged early in life and originated from his neurological dispositions and strong desire to express his emotions and experiences visually. Peter Riezebos is the author of the autobiographical bestseller 'Van mavo tot Harvard', which tells his life story from school dropout and clinical debacle to excellent multidisciplinary student and professional artist. Peter Riezebos is known for his expressive works and the powerful use of color. Especially in honour of the 'Addicted to Life' exhibition. There are 4 special Netherland national stamp sheet lets with his art work from the 'Go Dutch' series from 2016. His new artworks were inspired by his stay in Niseko and his passion for Japanese culture and are called Niseko Samurai 1 & 2.
